It flowers year round and has a heavily fragrant aroma that approaches bananas, cream, custard, vanilla, and tropical fruit. On the island of Nosy Be, there is a famous ylang ylang plantation that produces flowers with a particularly intense aroma and a top notch quality. Only the most mature of these blooms were used for Ylang Ylang Nosy Be, producing a thick, almost fertile smell that makes you think of flowers copulating in the air all around you.
