Imaginary Authors - Cape Heartache
Cape Heartache is a bold, outdoorsy coniferous scent with a surprising strawberry note for lift. It is inspired by the same explorer and diarist behind Memoirs of a Trespasser, Philip Sava, and is drawn from his sole American expedition, to the great Pacific Northwest. The story unfolds as follows: "Cape Heartache is the lone American contribution to Philip Sava's wildly popular series of exploration novels. It is based loosely on an expedition he made to the Pacific Northwest as a teenager in 1881 and is generally regarded as the most candid of his works. Revolving around a homestead he built in a coastal grove of old growth trees, the novel documents his romance with a young woman who was a descendent of the Nehalem Indian Tribe. It's themes of leaving the familiar and finding comfort and solace in a new place still resonate today."
A stunning and rather surprising fragrance, Cape Heartache pairs a resinous fir accord with a bright pink strawberry note, the combination of which smells like someone sucking on strawberry laces in a pine forest. In an ideal world, niche fragrance should innovate and push the envelope: Cape Heartache is the rare scent that actually takes up that challenge. Bravo!
Notes: fir, pine tree, hemlock, vanilla, big strawberry, woody notes
