The second of the "Night Veils", Midnight Candy starts with a soft, silvery iris whose rooty facets have been cleverly emphasized with a carrot seed note. The soft, papery iris topnotes soon part to reveal a heavy, thick jasmine absolute - practically bursting at the seams with indoles - flanked by another night flower, the black violet. Underneath the sensual jasmine lies a voluptuous layer of sweet apricots, suggested by the delicate osmanthus blossom, and a vanilla-infused chai. The whole effect is of a sugary pastry devoured at a midnight feast - naughty and forbidden, and all the better for it.
