The myth of Phaeton recounts the tragic tale of Helios’ son, who dared to ride the chariot of the sun. Unable to control its wild horses, he scorched and froze the earth in chaos. Zeus, witnessing the devastation, struck Phaeton down with a thunderbolt. Rubens’ painting captures the climactic moment—Phaeton plummeting in flames from the golden chariot, surrounded by terrified horses and celestial deities who uphold the order of time.
This fragrance pays tribute to Phaeton’s daring spirit and tragic fall. It opens with electrifying bursts of bergamot, lemon, cardamom, pink peppercorn, and ginger, unfolding into smoldering heart notes of labdanum, lavender, and agarwood.
