Fougère, frost, and the call of the forest: this is the story of a march through a dark Russian forest. The freshness of basil and lavender create the crisp sense of snow and trampled herbs and grasses. The leather here is dark, shiny black, and almost liquid in its smokiness. Snow, ice, tundra, bears, and cedar log cabins - these are all the things I think about as I trudge through the silence of the towering forest at midnight, illuminated only by a sliver of moon.
