Jacques Fath - Green Water
When Greenwater was first launched - in 1946, to an enthusiastic audience - it was considered even then a modern and timeless fragrance. Now this great classic has been reinterpreted for a new generation. With humility and a lot of tact, Cécile Zarokian has preserved the fresh character of this masterpiece while adding a modern twist.
The scent
The top notes are a maelstrom of lush, fresh neroli, creating a centrifuge of green leaves and citrusy accents. Softening and brightening the green neroli is a pairing of lemon, bergamot, orange, and mandarin notes. The total effect is like a sparkling, sour lemonade that fairly fizzes off the skin.
In the heart, two special varieties of mint lend the scent its inimitable character. A slug of cloves add a warming, almost medicinal aura that braces against the sharp greenery, citrus, and mint combinations. The sultry musk and amber pairing in the base gives a sense of depth and grandeur to Green Water, and grassy vetiver and aromatic oakmoss lend a velvety green sensuality.
