A surprise from Etat Libre d'Orange - no cheeky bottle art that will upset the neighbours and no shocking notes that will frighten the horses. No, what is offered here is simply a very good cologne that will serve as a sort of gateway drug for the uninitiated into the harder stuff. A glorious volley of citrus and white flowers over a dab of musk and leather for ballast - now what else could one want on a hot summer's day? Cologne may not be shocking, but it's a shockingly good interpretation of a well-worn genre and one well worth investing in. Oh, and by the way - despite the name, it's a sturdily built eau de parfum, not an eau de cologne. Sometimes, it's the lasting power that makes all the difference.
