État Libre d'Orange - Bijou Romantique

A rich, bejeweled floral oriental for a woman with as many facets as a diamond, Bijou Romantique is most aptly named. It is a scent replete with a satisfying series of little contrasts and mysteries that add depth and complexity, just as life experience does for a woman. On top of a classic powdery base of resins, vanilla, orris butter, and vetiver - a sort of "Guerlainade", so to speak - sits warm armfuls of tropical ylang ylang flowers that mingle gently with a soft, bitter bergamot, supplying the scent with the perfect yin and yang of sweet and sour. Likewise, the tropical damp whiteness of island coconut gains counterbalance from the earthy, bright clary sage note, suggestive of a sort of tug of war between two worlds, one floodlit by tropical sun and one shaded by the forests surrounding Paris.
