Perfumer: Pierre Bourdon

An unusual itinerary: Parisian and graduate from the venerable school of Sciences Politiques, Pierre Bourdon then decided to become a perfumer. In 1971, he was trained at the school of Roure Bertrand In Grasse and then became one of Edmond Roudnitska's only students. Afterward he joined the Roure team in Paris, followed by the one in New York. In 1982, he was Cofounder and head perfumer of Takasago Europe, where he remained for 9 years. In the course of those nine years, he created "Cool Water" for Davidoff, which is considered an essential landmark in the history of men's perfume. In 1993 he created the Paris affiliate of Fragrance Resources where he was the Head perfumer. A fierce worker, Pierre Bourdon is universally recognized as one of the most innovative perfumers of our time, one whose bold writing is constantly renewing itself.

THE FRAGRANCE

Taking advantage of the creative and financial liberty given to him, Pierre Bourdon has tackled the classic theme of Floral Aldéhydic, bringing to it a contemporary note by way of his very personal touch. Iris expresses raw classical beauty. Musk and vanilla bring softness and warmth, while the base of sandalwood adds a melodious resonance. If Pierre Bourdon's Iris Poudre was a garment, it would probably be a cashmere sweater -- classic but personal, appropriate for most occasions, something one never is tired of.
