Tauer Perfumes – Tauerville – Tuberose Flash
A delightfully different tuberose!
Are you a little bit scared of tuberose? Find it too sweet, too overwhelming, just too….too? Well, get ready for a different breed of tuberose. This is not your mother’s Fracas. If you already love tuberose, then that’s great too – Tuberose Flash contains a few surprises that will make you look at your favorite bloom with new eyes. But if you’re a tuberose-hater, then this could be the fragrance to convince you otherwise. Tuberose Flash is a very modern, rigorous take on the most polarizing note in perfumery. Its minty freshness up top and its smoky oriental base frames the flower in a new way, making it wearable, interesting, and beautiful to even the most tuberose-averse among us.
The fragrance opens on a fresh, minty note, the creaminess of the tuberose subdued by sparkling citrus fruit, bunches of mint, and a touch of camphor. It feels fresh and invigorating, and a thousand miles away from the stultifying richness we associate with tuberose.
Once the opening notes settle, the elegant sweetness of orange blossom and green jasmine is revealed. The tender white floralcy flutters around the tuberose note, which, while recognizable as tuberose, does not bully the other notes into submission. It is a quiet, cool version of itself. It speaks softly.
In the base, patchouli, labdanum, and benzoin reaches up and wraps the tender white florals in a smoky, resinous haze of incense and earth.
Sweetness level? Middling.
Male or Female? Straight down the middle – will please either sex without discrimination.
