Les Senteur Gourmandes – Café Tonka

Slowly and deliberately, the old steam train puffs up the steep coffee plantations of Tijuca. At low speed you have enough time to get yourself into the landscape that slowly passes by the window.

The train compartment is filled by the murmur of the passengers and the rhythmic clatter of the wagons. A whiff of fresh pepper and saffron comes through the open window and mingles with the aroma of freshly ground coffee.

Here in the highlands of Brazil, travelling is still an experience for the senses!
