Humiecki & Graef – Blask
In Blask, the unusual pairing of red wine, walnuts, and laurel (bay leaf) create an impression of a deep, glowing oud that spreads a golden warmth around the wearer. As balsamic and full-bodied as a glass of dark red wine, this is a scent that speaks of autumnal harvests, humus, earth, and the bitter dampness of approaching winter.
Blask, which means “glow” in Polish, is incredibly rich and extremely difficult to pin down. It feels woody but also balsamic, wine-like, herbal but also rootily spicy. Gentle, overlapping layers of nuts, woods, and wine accords create the impression of Chinese medicine, oud, and also overripe fruit and flowers. Complex and fascinating, this is a fragrance in which to wallow on cold autumn nights.
