Gritti – White Kollektion – Adèle
Adèle is bathed in the soft focus glow of a bouquet of freshly cut flowers, each single bloom boasting the clarity of a Vermeer painting. Imagine a Vermeer peasant girl bent over a piece of embroidery, backlit by the cold Northern light of a Dutch autumn. Her dress, as yellow as the pollen-dusted insides of a daffodil, shines brightly against the softer, pink and white colors of the roses de mai gathered in a posy pinned to her lace collar. Delicate and feminine, this floral bouquet is ruffled by the fruity, peachy breeze of Osmanthus flower, its apricot petals held together by a suede-like skin.
The rude sensuality of tuberose, hot with rubber and syrup, pushes past these delicate florals in the heart, introducing a fleshy sensibility that brings the flower to life. Restrained by the green, starchy hay-like tones of the narcissus, the tuberose and jasmine are eventually gentled, melting into the woody, salty ambergris drydown that seems to go on forever. At once tender and fleshy, Adèle is a scent that traces the tripwire where girlhood blossoms into womanhood.
