Grandiflora - Boronia
Boronia, the small brown wildflower native to Australia, is the focus of this composition by Bertrand Duchaufour. The natural aroma of the boronia, which is warm, woodsy, and sweet, has been accentuated here in this composition by a creamy tobacco-suede accord, resins, boozy cognac, caramel, and overripe stone fruit. It is, essentially, a gourmand fruity suede composition. But there is also a vein of piquant freshness - tannic black tea, the spicy dryness of tobacco leaf, herbaceous greenery - running through the plush, buttery caramel-suede, lifting and aerating it, so that the perfume retains a certain lightness of feel. Resins add a smoky, exotic touch in the drydown.
