État Libre d’Orange – La Fin du Monde
We’ve all wondered, how does the world end? But the guys at Etat Libre d’Orange want us to know that the real question we should be asking ourselves is not how does the world end, but rather how does it smell when it does? Apparently, the end of the world smells like buttered popcorn and gun powder. As the world is going up in flames, sniff the pepper spray and canon fodder blitzing through the air, and pull your loved ones close – their skin smells buttery, warm, and slightly sweet. It is an abstract scent that will take you places in your imagination. But it also smells homely and comforting. And surely, that’s exactly what we need to be smelling when the world ends.
Notes: pop-corn accord, carrot seeds, cumin seeds, sesame, black pepper from Madagascar, freesia, vetiver from Haiti, sandalwood, kernels of ambrette absolute, orris absolute, styrax, canon powder accord
