D.S. & Durga – Amber Teutonic
D.S. & Durga’s Amber Teutonic draws heavily from myth, history, and ritual associated with places that produce amber materials. Amber extracts are often tied into religious and sacred ceremonial practice. Like myths, amber formulations change over time and are constantly reinterpreted. Like myths, their very scent draws us backward to some primeval source. The creator’s inspiration was this: ?Mahler’s hut, perched high above the valley of Alpine fir, horn echoes in the primeval forest. A Nibelungian hoard of precious emerald ambers’.
Sounds wonderful, right? And it is. Not your average amber, Amber Teutonic is a fresh, coniferous affair, the piney greenness of fir balsam and larch erecting a massive Black Forest around a core of dusty, ancient amber resin. The perfect contrast between cool and warm, leafy-bitter and sweet, resinous and silky, Amber Teutonic smells refreshing in summer and invitingly cozy in the icy sweep of Christmas. Picture golden amber crystals washing up on the stony beaches of the Baltic, and you have the idea of this scent’s scope.
