Rhubarb, Violet, Freesia
Woody Notes, Vetiver
Byredo Parfums – La Tulipe – Eau de Parfum
La Tulipe is built around the idea of the tulip – a flower reminiscent of morning moist gardens and by being one of the season’s first flowers to open its bud; the tulip has become a symbol for the rebirth of spring. This scent opens with a fresh rhubarb and cyclamen. The beloved freesia joins this flowery bouquet and makes the headnote complete.La Tulipe is an awesome composition of flowery notes with an intense heart of tulip. It let’s you think about gardens full of fresh blossoms, walking with barfeet through the grass wet by the morning dew. The basenote comes up with blonde wood and vetiver. This stabilizes the flowery notes and brings them down to earth.
“I have always loved tulips and decided to create a fragrance that spoke of the whole idea of the flower. To do this I wanted to capture its shy characteristic – and combine that with the expressive physicality it bears. For me, the tulip is very intriguing as it won’t surrender its smell through distillation. But by combining natural ingredients taken from different parts of the tulip as well as from other flowers it was possible to give life to this fragrance we set out to create.”
